Alber Elbaz of Lanvin continues to get it right. He is totally in touch with the modern woman and her life. For Spring 2012, he delivered a sleek, flattering silhouette with lots of sportswear separates all injected with tons of sex appeal. The refreshing note was the strong leaning toward navy, white and black for a crisp look; of course, no Lanvin collection would be complete without signature pops of color. This time in a beautiful array of prints and shades of dusty rose, bright turquoise and lemon yellow. The catwalk highlight was the exquisitely beaded cocktails dresses, especially the one-shoulder looks that just made cocktail hour even more exciting. I think there will be a mad scramble for many of these pieces including the flowing summer looks that make a sensuous statement in addition to the notable accessories. Alber himself, summed it all up when he ended the show with Tina Turner’s “Let’s Stay Together”.
