Style Stalking: What We’re Spotting on the Streets of Paris

ParisStreetStyle-header

Nothing is more fun in Paris during fashion week than street style inspo. A lot of it happens right outside the shows but photographers are also stalked outside of hotels, especially the redone Ritz Paris on the Place Vêndome, the nearby Park Hyatt, the trés chic Hotel Costes, and the Plaza Atheneé in the 8th Arrondissement. In fact, I was even snapped quite a few times after avoiding my traditional all black uniform.  The weather also did a 180° change from being a bit cool to totally warming up. Lucky all of us fashion gals were prepared.

Once I get home, I’m trying the neutral trick of creams, blacks, or whites paired with just the right accessories. The perfect mirrored sunnies. A pop of blue with black. An embellished collar is a new go-to along with clutches and minis bags in metallic silver. Strappy sandals paired with anything was just the right touch in the heat, and, of course, I saw lots of sneakers with day and evening dresses. Mixing and matching patterns also seemed to mimic what was hitting the runways.

Other trends I loved included leather and lace skirts, the return of the cinched wist, and stacked heels. I love a stacked heel! Always have. Always will.

In between shows I went more casual and pulled out my beloved Jacquemus patchwork cotton pantsuit (and I am loving pants again) and for cooler days I always throw a cashmere pop of color (and I love pale pink) coat over my jeans to brighten up my all black uniform.
