The Blonde & The Brunette received another great invitation: this time from Martin Katz.  You know him as the renowned celebrity jeweler who dresses so many of the stars for the Red Carpet. Sunday night Martin and Audi ushered in the official kick-off party for the Golden Globes® week of events.   Once again, I found myself at the center of another fabulous party.  This time at Cecconi’s on Melrose, just about the hottest restaurant in LA (and the site of the old Morton’s). The restaurant was transformed with an enormous outdoor living room, DJ Pesce spinning amazing music, unique martinis, such as the Mulholland Drive being passed, and a fun photo booth.

Golden Globe® nominees Octavia Spencer, Viola David, Johnny Galecki, Brunson Green and everyone from Zoe Saldana and Julie Bowen joined Audi and Martin Katz for the exclusive cocktail soiree.   At the event, celebrities arrived in stunning Audi A8L vehicles. Who doesn’t like to travel in style?  Besides eye candy on the Red Carpet,  Martin Katz had a jewelry installation of his most coveted couture-quality jewelry pieces, right near the bar, and had the crowd mesmerized.

The fashion was also perfectly measured for a Sunday evening.  Great basic black, and a few of our 2012 predictions, including black and white as well as neon, brights and sequins.  I wore a black and white Giambattista Valli, carried my beloved, limited edition Lanvin FNO clutch, and black tights (which I know is a Red Carpet fashion no-no but it was chilly and mostly outdoors).  We predict you’ll see lots of blush, embellishment and emerald green at the Golden Globes.  Let’s all find out together.
