2013 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Winners

Our predictions for the Emmy Red Carpet fashion parade were spot on. Nudes, whites, lots of shades of blues, black, and touches of red led the fashion trends. Dazzling diamonds reigned as the top jewelry look along with modern cuffs and colored statement gemstone earrings.  Short, chic cropped-hair also seemed to be the order-of the evening with long locks taking the night off on many a beauty.

Overall, it seemed a more modest Red Carpet, with gowns showing lots more restraint and few fashion risks. Visual interest came from high-necked dresses, skin-baring slits, unique necklines and revealing backs plus a few tough-girl harnesses. Think Heidi Klum in her pomergranate Versace. Shimmering gowns and ballroom skirts were another very lady-like theme. There were mixed reviews on Julianne Hough’s gown with the ever so sheer lace skirt with some commenting “what was she thinking?”

B & B favorites included Claire Danes in a stunning nude Armani , Michele Dockery in a sophisticated two-tone Prada, and Guiliana Rancic in a beautiful Todashi Shodji.

Maybe it was a reaction to a summer of over-the-top, body revealing fashion and twerking, but risks were few and far between.  Sedate and all quite beautiful but not that buzz-worthy. We’ll all be talking about something else by the end of the day. By the way, we even have a similar Ashlynd’ clutch worn by Zooey Deschanel waiting in the wings for B & B giveaway. That’s our latest fashion find and obsession.
