Jenny Packham Runway to Red Carpet Glamour…From The Duchesss Of Cambridge to Angelina

The Blonde and The Brunette have been closely following Jenny Packham after she was launched on to the world stage earlier this year with her drop dead ethereal gowns for the Duchess of Cambridge. She is now also known for the knock out dress recently worn by Angelina Jolie on the Red Carpet for the Screen Actors Guild Awards (shown above).  Angelina wore a vintage Jenny Packham draped gown from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection. It looked like molten lava dripping down her body. It was so sultry and elegant that Jenny was suddenly in the rightful position of having  more fans than ever.

So it was no surprise when Jenny Packham’s 2012 New York Fashion Week collection took the beguiling metallic looks to another level.  The Forties came to life via  silver, lavish silk crepe,  and gun-metal studs. We love how she has gone from lush pastels and neutrals and moved to dazzling sequins. Her inspiration apparently came from from the “strong personalities of Film Noir’s leading ladies” to embody movie star glamour. I’m sure we will be seeing Jenny’s creations on Oscar’s Red Carpet soon! Here’s some of our favorites from her recent show.
