Dinner Diary: Sally LaPointe Fetes Resort 2018 In LA with Co-Host NJ Goldston
Dubbed the “Queen of Street Style”, designer Sally LaPointe headed west last week to host a dinner at the Chateau Marmont to showcase her Resort 2018 Collection. I was delighted to co-host, introduce the designer to a stylish group of LA fashion movers and shakers, and wear a stunning almost monochromatic look from the season. The timing seemed perfect as guests from designer Sally Perrin, beauty maven Isabel Madison, Rochelle Gores Fredston, stylists Erica Pelosini and Jessica Raiter, Violet Grey’s April Uchitel, Erica Zohar, Quinn Ezralow, Eve Gerber, and Christine Chiu met the designer for the first time. An incredibly relaxed evening, the group admired LaPointe’s “easy dressing which is perfect for LA” while raving about her signature fur-cuffed sweaters (which typically sellout as soon as they are available) and size-inclusive options. Besides myself and LaPointe, Erica Pelosini sported an opulent jewelry-like embroidered sweatshirt look from resort paired with a semi-sheer pencil skirt. The evening was even more special for the beautiful, candlelit tablescape and family style dining orchestrated by my good friend and great fashion industry connector, Patrick Herning, who is now moving on to his new role as Founder at 11 Honoré.

Finally, if you’re loving LaPointe’s superluxe knits in sweatshirt silhouettes, and I’m a big fan along with her hand-embroidered beading and crystals, and streetwear staples, you can find them at Moda Operandi, Bergdorf Goodman, Allora by Laura in Santa Barbara, Switch in Beverly Hills, and 1508 in Venice Beach. After all, what could be more fun than discovering an emerging designer while out with fellow fashion devotees. Not much.
