Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 Couture: Dreams Do Come True
Gaimbattista Valli made his couture debut yesterday. Unlike what happened at Dior, he laid down the gauntlet and emerged a new star on the couture circuit. Plunging into the cold waters of what many have said is becoming an obsolescent showcase, he gracefully demonstrated he is more than up to the challenge. Channeling sensual, monochromatic black, white and cream confections, he threw in dramatic touches of animal prints, feathers, lace, reds (á la Valentino) and structure to create his a new, relevant vision. It was worth the wait.
