Haider Ackermann FW 2011: Rumors Are A Thousand Kisses Deep

The Blonde & The Brunette are wondering if the rumors true?  Will Haider Ackermann replace Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel?  Or will he replace John Galliano at Dior? He’s definitely a front-runner to assume the ‘golden scissors’ with all eyes on him.  The Belgian-born and trained designer proves himself again with his beautiful Fall 2011 collection; in one word “Romantic“.  The wide leather belts, velvet jackets, silk and satin were arranged beautifully. As the models walked down the runway he played Leonard Cohen’s love song “A Thousand Kisses Deep“. It was like watching a beautiful love story and it’s a long way from over!!!

Here’s the interesting part, retailers like Neiman Marcus are getting in the “modernist” game or should we say mix and just picked up his line. They are heavily promoting a new sensibility to hit the younger demographic, the sophisticated luxury market and drive increased retail traffic. We can’t wait to see what happens!
