Last night, Randy and I were front row at the Monique Lhuillier Fall /Winter 2012 Show at Mercedes Fashion Week in NYC, and we promise to report on this show and others in even more detail, but we know Oscar Contender gowns when we see them. They marched down the runway one after another in a sultry black and red palette with a strong nod to the Year of The Dragon.
We selected our favorites, and honestly these photos don’t do the gowns justice, and it was hard to choose, but The Blonde & The Brunette suspect there is going to be a competitive celebrity stylist frenzy over this particular collection. Monique has hit her stride in every possible way and it shows. The overall focus was on long and lean silhouettes, perfect for Hollywood photo ops, beautiful lace, sheer panels and daring slits, zippered sleeves, the waist via dramatic leather corsets, and then the amazing sequin statement gowns. Let’s see what happens on Oscar night. We can’t wait.
