New designer alert. Simone Rocha. Loud applause. Her SS13 collection has it all. Metallics, florals, sheaths, a high-octane slightly sheer pencil skirt, cut from lightly structured coated-cotton, whites and brights.
A Central Saint Martins graduate (which just may be the hottest and most prolific fashion design school in the world), Rocha made her way to London Fashion Week in under a year. Citing Ed Templeton’s imagery (a well-known California-based professional skateboarder and somewhat risqué contemporary artist) as the inspiration behind her hotly anticipated line, this innovative collection focuses on clean color palettes along with experimental fabric techniques including heavily-embroidered lace.
For the runway show, the styling team added white and gold boyish brogues with crystal clear totes. A great way to balance feminine wiles with minimalist panache. Launched yesterday on Net-A-Porter, key looks have already started to sell out. So hurry. Seriously. Hurry.
