We’re starting to tally fall trends we actually love, want to wear and are a worthwhile addition to your wardrobe. Beside looking great they must be budget friendly. With Fall almost 60% shipped into stores (!), yeah that’s an amazing little fashion statistic, except for runway looks, it’s time to get a move on. So it’s the beginning of our annual onslaught of favorite looks that are worth actually wearing.  By the way, be prepared to be inundated over the next week with everything that is so right now before fashion week starts again for Spring 2014.

If you haven’t noticed, borrowed from the boys and preppy style are a big inspiration behind our must-haves list starting with (1) the overcoat, especially in a soft pastel pink. If you can even find one, grab it.  It’s a great feminine masculine mix. Luxe pencil skirts mixed with cozy sweaters are strong this season but try (2) gold and mix it with black. We just used this exact skirt for our B & B shoot this week.  More on that soon.

(3). Preppy plaids are also everywhere and lingerie looks. Mixing them together is so unexpected. The key is to carefully select a plaid or windowpane fabric that works with your own hair and skin tones. (4) No flared skirt in your wardrobe, get one.  Great for any urban chic girl’s wardrobe. Black booties required. Finally, (5) Navy is also becoming the new fall neutral or any shade of blue this season. But go for details like pieces with zippers and remember pants and pantsuits are on the upswing.

Here’s the nice surprise, you can find all these looks at Zara. Don’t wait, the best ones go way too fast.
