DL1961’s Samantha Jean Launch Party and Collaboration

Last week the The Blonde and The Brunette were invited to the über exclusive launch party for the new DL1961’s Samantha Jean .  It was held in two bungalows at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. This is the hotel you always read about as the late night celebrity hangout. Let me paint the scene for you. If you are lucky enough to be invited to an event at “The Chateau” (as locals refer to it) you better have an invitation, be staying there, be a celebrity, or a have celebrity name to get you in because when you drive up,  there are four handsome male security guards (each about 6″4″) who will stop you in your tracks if you don’t have any magic words. That means the valet won’t even take your car. But, we had a name. Samantha Harris, Emmy-nominated television personality who is currently seen on the world’s #1 Entertainment show, Entertainment Tonight, and formerly of Dancing With the Stars (DWTS).  This time, they quickly took our car, whisked us to the secret bungalow gate and it was immediately unlocked so we could make our way to the event (down the stairs and pass the famous pool).

It was an intimate party and all about the denim. Here’s the not-so-big and big surprise. Samantha Harris knows her stuff  down to every last detail! As soon as we arrived, we met Samantha (and we recalled briefly meeting each other on previous occasions), her team, viewed the amazing line-up of premium denim in an array of fall colors, and plunged into a comprehensive discussion  about the who, what, why, where and how of her quest to create the most “flexible” jean for women. The tables were turned and she was ready.

After years of struggling to find the perfect jean, while pregnant with her second child, Samantha discovered the DL1961 maternity jean. We heard the talk. Now we wanted to see if the product could do the walk. So we do what we do, and took a pair into the ladies room, right at the event, changed into the jeans and put them to the test-especially since we all don’t have the exact same figure as Samantha. Now that’s what I call a girl’s night out.
