Fall 2012 Runway and Trend Report: Our B & B Style Favorites

The Blonde & The Brunette thought we would shake things up a bit this time and report after everyone else!  Ha!  We’ve selected our top five collections from the month-long fashion marathon of Fall/Winter 2012 and some of the breakouts trends.  I’m sure this will not be our last word, but we had to get the opinions rolling.  First, Milan and Paris versus New York and London had the strongest collections.  It’s a toss up between Prada and McQ for the #1 slot, followed by the 10th Anniversary Collection from Lanvin and Balmain tied for 3rd and 4th place with Chanel our #5 pick (and yes, Karl Lagerfeld showed crystal eyebrows!!!) . Special kudos and notes include Lanvin’s noteworthy 10th Anniversary Show, the Balmain look with the velvet pants and amazing jacket (we don’t know anyone who doesn’t covet this look) and the spectacular, surreal Marc Jacobs Runway Show because he can and because he does.

For trends, Chanel got fierce while cobalt blue & dramatic eyes became a great new way to make a statement.  Blunt pixies are stunning along with over-sized crystals, shades of purple (for that very royal touch), pants are back in a big way with the new length just above the ankle, pilgrim shoes with jeweled buckles, the micro waist and leather, leather and more leather with fur while hemlines dropped to about 2 inches above the knee so the über mini is out.

Thoughts?
