Fall In Love With Kaufman Franco

For modern luxury, it’s Kaufman Franco. Two of my favorite designers, Ken Kaufman and Issac Franco, consistently create the most comfortable, fashionable day wear and then turn the tables to design the most glamorous, figure flattering evening wear. Yes, that was Kim Kardashian in their gold sequined dress on the Red Carpet not to long ago. Evening wear is what put them on the map. Their gowns are sexy and revealing yet elegant.  This time they also had an equally strong grouping of statement cocktail dresses.

Since they don’t do runway shows, it’s often difficult to see their entire collection before it hits the stores. A few weeks ago they brought their Fall/Winter 2011 Collection to Saks Fifth Avenue and it resonated. They showcased a great selection of  wrapped and belted leather jackets, sweater and leather vests (and they do it almost better than anyone else) paired with sleek leggings. The twist  was the great contrasting fabric blocking. They also took their “jeggings” and scrunched them up for a new look with platform heels. Very clever. Nice style tip. For evening, they also showcased two sequinned pant selections in a dashing wide leg or stove pipe.  This is your official style alert: we are going to continue to see a great focus on creative leg wear this Fall so let them inspire you.

Best of all, take your cues form their neutral color palette. The nudes, gunmetals, shades of gray, browns and the rich black fabrications, work on everyone.
