Sandast

Established in 2006, Sandast is a Los Angeles-based maker of quality leather goods.  Creator Milan Franeti’s mission is to combine vintage aesthetics and modern functionality.  He began rummaging for secondhand Swiss army bags that he would then dirty and age by hand in order to achieve a worn-in, vintage feel.  Now handcrafted in the US using old-world Italian machinery and methods, each bag is made from US-sourced vegetable leather and brass hardware.  The brand features two collections:

• The American Rugged Collection, inclusive of “rough and tough” messengers, backpacks and duffels, is produced in the USA and designed to appeal to the “Clint Eastwoods and Brigitte Bardots” of the fashion world.
• The Italian Vintage Collection is “sleek and polished”, ultra luxe style reminiscent of James Bond or Rita Hayworth.

I just love both collections, but if I had to choose a favorite, I think it’d be Cayman Leather Bag because of its versatility.  But, really, you can’t go wrong with any of them because whichever you pick, will surely last a lifetime.  Definitely an investment piece!
