The Blonde & The Brunette’s 2020 New Years Resolutions
The New Year is a time for reflecting on the past and saying hello to the coming year. In the past, The B & B Team has written out a long list of things we’d like to change, and pressure ourselves to stay on track. What a miserable way to kick things off. We talked it over and agreed, it’s time for a new perspective in 2020. The older we get, the more we began to realize how important it is to love yourself just the way you are. “Be happy with what you have, while working for what you want.”
It’s like starting a new diet every Monday, it’ll never work. Instead, start now, write a list of things and , you’d like to improve on, and spend each day bettering yourself little by little because you want to, not because you feel like you have to. I mean…if you want to eat the chocolate, eat the chocolate, because YOLO. So be kind to yourself and make more realistic resolutions. By the way, scientific evidence supports, there’s a much greater chance you will stay with it via “small, gradual changes that can be maintained over time .”
NJ’s been using Carolyne Faulkner, Britain’s ‘coolest astrologer, new book Your Signs, a first-of-its kind astro-journal which offer simple yet powerful daily, weekly and monthly exercises and tips to navigate the changing tides of daily life. The journal covers the year 2020 and will look ahead to the movements of the planets for the whole year, including monthly and weekly forecasts plus ‘homework’ exercises. Here we go with ours and maybe you see one of yours. No one’s keeping score.

Be Adventurous: It’s time for me to step outside my comfort zone and start doing things for the first time again. This means I have to say “no” more often and reevaluate what is the best way to spend my time. I also need to continue downsizing as less is becoming the thing that promises me the most freedom of all. I need to be reasonable with myself and set limits plus not be afraid to tell others that I have limits as well. I am going to try and vary my routine and look for new challenges.

Forward Motion: I have made it my personal mantra for 2020, to go FORWARD. In all ways of my life. To move forward out of my past, to become a forward thinker, and to always strive for forward progression. I am excited to start the new year with a fresh mind and new goals. To continue to grow, while still having a good work/personal balance. Also some amazing travel in between, would be ideal.

Detox: I would love to be more present in my life. I want to spend less time on my phone and in my thoughts. I’d like to take more time to appreciate every single day, be more mindful as I create memories with my friends and family. This year was very challenging and reminded me how precious life is and how important it is to be grateful for all that I have. My New Years resolution is also to give back to people in need as there are so many. Here’s to a healthy, peaceful, successful and joyful 2020!

Self Love: This year, I’d like to focus more time and energy on self love & being present with myself. After one of the more emotional years I’ve had, I realized I owe it to my body and my mind to take the time to slow down and shut off once in a while. From yoga, to tackling my never ending book collection, to getting outside more, it’s time to slow down and embrace some “me” time. My biggest resolution though, is the all around idea that less is more. I believe life is better when you choose quality over quantity. Whether it be your clothes, your friends, or your thoughts. Saving up for one designer handbag is better than ten mediocre handbags, one exceptional friendship is better than ten acquaintances, and the less you think the happier you will be! Cheers to an incredible 2020.
What are your goals and dreams for 2020?!
