Erdem Moralioglu established his London-based ready-to-wear line, Erdem, in 2005. He has since been celebrated for his unique use of print, craftsmanship and feminine collections, not to mention, he has quickly won a strong following on the red carpet including Michelle Williams, Gwyneth Paltrow and Carey Mulligan.
The inspiration for his latest collection came from old photos of his mum on holiday. He envisioned a teenage girl heading off to attend a school trip. It doing so, he toned down his usual feminine style to embrace a much more boyish element of design. The collection includes slouchy trousers, loose shirts, and boxy jackets. Bravo Erdem, we love this new tomboyish look you’re experimenting with!
His trick in keeping these pieces Erdem-ized? The black leather skirts are painted with flowers, the leather-fronted sweater is studded with jeweled daisies, and can we just talk about the black and white BOW loafers he’s producing with Nicholas Kirkwood?!
