I love when our paths cross with accomplished designers. That’s just what happened when I bumped into Cameron Silver at a big event last Saturday at the Beverly Hills Hotel. He was in a fabulous red suit and who was by his side? The ever so stunning Chilean fashion designer Maria Cornejo who had custom designed his striking ensemble in a tone on tone, textured, fabric. She consistently reaches into her own international experience (having lived and worked in London, Paris and now New York) to develop collections that are unexpectedly simple yet based on sophisticated cuts and angles. Using volume and circular shapes as a starting point; garments are often draped and cut from one piece of fabric. A subtle evolution process, Maria continually develops her techniques from one season to the next to create dynamic and intelligent clothing for women.
So…if you actually want to buy something in season, you can! Still available are some of her great figure flattering one or two-piece swim suits,a hot new jumpsuit or a great beach cover-up. Each of the pieces easily mix and match so you can use them in multiple ways.In order from top left to bottom right: 1)Crop Curve Ori Pant $395, Asia Halter $195 2) Sia Swim Top $195, Contra Skirt $425 3) Cavi Blanket $575, Oona Bandeau $190, Alla Bikini $185 4) Oona Swimsuit $410 5)One Piece Sophia Swimsuit, $395 6)Eve Grace Jumpsuit, $995, Alla Swim Top $185 7)Sim Swim Bottom $170, Oona Bandeau $190, Keti Blanket $795.
