We are deep into Winter and I am already obsessing about Pre-Fall 2012. What the heck is Pre-Fall? Most designers show eight (8) collections a year. Wow! That’s takes a lot of creative fire power and hard work. So Pre-Fall used to be a time for dreary stop-gap collections proceeding the drama of Fall. Not any more. Now it is just as exciting, if not more so, and no longer the stepchild season of boxy blazers and dreary no nonsense sweaters. In stores around June and July, and certainly making its way on to the Red Carpet during award season, these collections are really intended to be worn starting early September.
Over the last few weeks, the collections have been showcased and The Blonde & The Brunette have selected some of our favorites including 3.1 Philip Lim, Proenzer Schouler, Vera Wang, Narcisco Rodriguez (he woke up!), Jason Wu and Versace. They are all channeling a drop of urban sport chic and a bit of menswear as a motif; but, they’ve all got this sexy, leggy twist. The message is loud and clear. Bang! Pow! Za-p! This stuff is killer.
