Color Blocking Coats

The color-blocking trend is far from new. It has seen its way in and out of style season after season.

In the past, we thought this look was just acceptable for spring and summer, but boy were we wrong! What better time to spruce up your drab winter wardrobe than with a unexpected color pop!

A few tips if you’re a first time color-blocker :

First, don’t use more than 3 colors. Believe me, I love colors, but too many will make you look like a clown. More than 3 colors is more often than not, just too much going on.

Second, the best way to color-block is to choose one dominant color and then choose others to adorn it. The dominant color should be the one that attracts attention. The other colors should be more basic and neutral. Think black, grey, white, and tan.

Lastly, if you decide to wear colored accessories i.e: bag, shoes, jewelry, then go really easy on the clothes and stay with neutral tones. A perfect example of this would be pairing a little black dress with bright pumps and gold jewels. Elegant, chic and still eye popping! It’s always better to be just enough than ‘too much.’ Trust me, it’s all in the details!

Lusting after all of these! Which one is your favorite?
