First Dibs on Prada Fall 2012

I am going to back track and deem this the prelude to The Met Gala and all its delicious surprises.  Here’s how it works: if you are a designer (let’s just say like Mrs. Prada), and you just happen to be the one being honored at The Met Gala, you ship in a small, select portion of your Pre-Fall and Fall Runway show.  It’s all strategically placed in your four key stores around Manhattan: The 5th Avenue store, the über accessory shoe venue on 57th Street, a few drops of merchandise on Madison Avenue for East Siders and a few things downtown at your Broadway flagship.  The items are there for just a few days and anything unsold is whisked back to Milan and reappears in August.

I quickly ran in to two of the four stores and snapped pics and really wanted to see for myself if this collection was as gorgeous as the runway pictures.  In one word, “YES!”.  Many of the outfits were worn at the Gala last night and, oddly enough, most were not photographed.  More on that later.  However, if you would love to get first dibs on a few of these items, call and ask for John at the 5th Avenue store.  This is a collection worth collecting.  Tell him, NJ, The Brunette sent you.  Prada /724 5th Avenue / New York, NY 10019/ 212-664-0010.  And…there are a few pairs of the amazing Spring 2012 sunglasses in stock.  Grab them while you can.
