Prada – Duchess Satin +Andy Warhol Pop Art Daisies

White Mink For Spring!

I love that polar opposites in fashion are equally valid. Gucci and Prada are the perfect reflection of the limitless creative barometer that is style.  Gucci’s Creative Director, Frida Giannini, channels the jet set from the heyday of Alitalia, la Liz and Marisa Berenson to deliver sexy stunning silhouettes, brilliant colors, ruffles, drop-dead bejeweled coral statement lines, cut-out backs and fronts, tunics and trousers and black & white for night.  Mrs. Prada had an entirely different vision as she unveiled a dark collection that graduated to white with everything from duchess satin, Andy Warhol pop art daisies, white mink for Spring (!!!), geisha and orgami influences to the final exits in pale pink and green. At first glance, it might even seem a miss.  Nope.  Once again, Prada has made a bold, new statement. The new decade is here thanks to a little help from the sixties. Sign me up.
