Naturally this just had to be the inspiration for the line. From the inside of the towering seven-inch calligraphy-inspired cap peeks out a flash of red—an echo of the color of the iconic sole. Modeled after the heel of the Ballerina ULTIMA, the highest heel Christian Louboutin ever designed, and perfectly weighted to ensure the utmost ergonomic comfort and control. Monsieur Louboutin’s idea was not just to create beauty products; he wanted to push the unprecedented limits of packaging, formula and colors. The goal: create true “objets d’art“. Well he surely did. The first release in his new line is the aptly named Rouge Louboutin with an ombré effect.
It starts with intense black and graduates to the signature red of Louboutin’s trademarked soles. Nothing was overlooked. This luxury lacquer is encapsulated in a prismatic crystal bottle with a pointed cap that evokes the designer’s iconic 8-inch heel, the Ballerina Ultima. As the master himself stated, “The ultimate goal of the nail colour was to evoke shiny lacquer imprisoned in a piece of faceted crystal.”

He didn’t stop with the rouge. Oh no. He started with it and then Loubotin’s team worked with leather and fabric samples unique to the brand to create the full palette of a stunning line. To showcase them, Christian Louboutin artfully designed three distinct groups; The Pops, The Noirs and The Nudes. Once chosen, shades were then perfected to complement different skin tones. With each grouping he cleverly adapted the caps going from shiny for the colors that literally “POP” to a gold tone cap for The Nudes to gunmetal for the alluring Noirs.

The eye-catching silver cap of The Pops Pallette takes a back seat to highlight the rainbow of bright colors.
