NYFW: The Best Beauty, Hair, & Nail Looks We Gotta Try!

NYFWBeauty-header

With only a few days of NYFW left, we rounded up the top beauty trends we spotted on the runways in the last few days. These are the ones you might actually try and caught our attention this year! It’s still so hot in NY and LA, you can even experiment with some of these right now and bring them back next Spring. We’re planning on putting them to the test!

We loved checking out all the makeup trends going down the runway at fashion week! The one that stood out most? Bold bold colors for the eyes! We watched Diane Von Furstenberg dominate with her gorgeous gang of famous models from Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, and Gigi Hadid all displaying a very vintage look (obviously inspired by Diane herself) with bright blue/green eye shadow and Studio 54 side-swept curls. We then spotted a more “youthful” version on the Monique Lhiullier runway. This time with messy beach waves combined with the striking Red Carpet looks. For hair , use TRESemmé Expert Selection Make Waves Hi-Def Waves/Curls Shaping Gel Cream.

Oh , the nails. We’re heading to the salon pronto. We saw lots of geometric shapes and patterns on nails coming down the runway.  This time the shaping is slightly more rounded, a bit more delicate, and the patterns are are reminiscent of 60’s pop art. Of course, the signature B&B black and white look at Opening Ceremony might just be our favorite. We’ve always been fans of nail art with a sophisticated twist.

Other nail trends we saw coming down the runways were chic matte nails in subtle colors, and a complete update of the french manicure.  Match your shadow to a colored tip or try the inverse. Use your nail bed for the french tip. The result is modern and chic. Genius. From the colorful barely there tip, to the thick  new gradient look. Essie is our go-to for nail lacquers for any of these looks and the Cashmere Matte collection for right now. We are loving this, and gotta try it!

We saw lots of different hair style this year in New York, but one of our favorites that we’re sure is here to stay, is that cool-girl slicked back hair style! We adore Victoria Beckham and loved the way her models looked coming down the runway, So simple. So classic. The middle part or a slick side sweep is how to pull it off. Don’t forget a little Moroccan oil on your wet hair to get that shiny blow dry finish.

Lastly, one hair trend we kept seeing that we have to give a try is the twist! Public School updated the look creating the “modern bohemian.” It’s sleek but not severe.  If you want to try it yourself, do a tight ponytail, divide into sections and then tightly twist them simultaneously into opposite directions. Whether its a full twisted braid, or a more subtle half up-half down look. We dig it!

What were your favorite trends you spotted at NYFW? We’d love to hear!
