After closely stalking all of the fall fashion weeks attempting to trend-spot for fall/winter 2017, one thing was perpetually present and continued to pop up in New York, London, Milan, and Paris …Power-Red. These hues range from deep and sultry to bright and playful & there is a distinct difference in the way they are being worn; some designers are featuring head-to-toe crimson looks while others are choosing subtlety in a pair of boots or a handbag…but either way, red is making a serious statement this year. With NYFW Women’s quickly approaching, the jury is still out…but in my opinion, I think it’s safe to assume that Red is the “it” color for fall.
“There is a commonality between the colors we are seeing on the runway in New York and London,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “However, individuality is evident and we are seeing a distinct difference between the shows in the two cities in the way these same colors are being combined.”
